55 Years of Fishing Tradition

Dave and Betty Greene opened a bait and tackle store in 1969 called D & B Bait ‘n Tackle at the intersection of B & CC on the north side of the Chippewa Flowage. The store was the home for the Greene’s in which they raised a family, built a strong tradition of fishing values and were a vital link in building our community through the years.
In 2022, it was time to retire and pass the passion to us, Butch Rhea and Karla Fritsch. As long-term residents of the area, Butch growing up here and Karla moved here in 1996, we are sharing our life-long love of fishing and the outdoors.
In May 2023, the Can Of Worms was opened after a renovation. Although in the original footprint, the store has been expanded to include more bait, tackle and new amenities including a beer cave, fire wood, camp cooking, wildlife feed, and of course, directions when you’re lost. We are a connecting point here to help you in your everyday world or on your occasional visit to this pristine area. We welcome you to Can Of Worms because life is full of the unexpected….open it up and come on in!
